Lil Wayne Being Sued
June 24, 2011
Lil Wayne may be out of prison but he’s not completely out of the Justice system. Just when he thought he was out…Play-N-Skillz, the producers of the hit track Got Money off of Weezy’s hugely successful Tha Carter III, have filed a $1 million lawsuit against Wayne for royalties on the track. In a separate lawsuit, Young Money & Cash Money Records have been hit up for royalties to the tune of $1.5 million by producer David Kirkwood, and in yet another lawsuit, a copyright claim has been filed against Cash Money recording artist Birdman claiming that he lifted a sample from Funkadelic. The moral of the story? Think twice about producing with Young and Cash Money.

Lil Wayn: Unplugged (and Unzipped)
June 21, 2011
Lil Wayne finally had his go at MTV’s Unplugged recently and took the crowd by storm with 18 songs from throughout his career. Most of the set wasn’t really unplugged (they even used autotune) except for acoustic versions of Mrs. Officer and Lollipop but the performance had the intimate stage setting of prior episodes of Unplugged. One thing that definitely was unplugged was Weezy’s zipper which he noticed halfway through the set, asking the audience why nobody told him to great laughter. You can see Weezy doing 6 Foot 7 Foot in this clip where Weezy takes his shirt off and lets his dreads down before launching into the hit track.
Tha Carter IV Is Coming…

That’s exactly what happened for Lil Wayne who now stands shoulder to shoulder with other hip hop luminaries Jay Z, Lauryn Hill and Mary J. Blige. Now that he’s out and coasting on his I Am the Music Tour, Weezy isn’t taking a second to breathe with the summer festival circuit in full effect. Check out Weezy slayin’ them at Bamboozle:
